Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have been lucky enough to experience both kayaking and hiking with Falkland outdoors, both times I was accompanied by a group of teenagers. I cannot speak highly enough of the team, utterly professional, kind and knowledgeable, with seemingly unending patience. Honestly fabulous all round. I look forward to more adventures in the future.

Absolutely fantastic day, Kayaking with Dan. Me and my work colleagues, had a lush day, out on the sea, enjoying the breathtaking scenery as well as listening to Dans knowledge of the island. An experience like know other, dolphins dancing in front of us, too sea lions surrounding us and of course penguins. Highly recommend booking with Falklands outdoors for a 5 star service.

Went sea kayaking and Dan was an excellent guide. Just fantastic to have both dolphins and penguins swim not only next to the kayak but also under the kayak. Went out to the tussack islands and got ashore for a cup of warm coffee and cake before heading back towards the shore - and along the way coming across even more dolphins who swam alongside the kayak for a while.
Dan himself is highly knowledgeable about the area and very pleasant to spend time with.
If you are in the Falklands you should really look up Dan for an amazing experience.

Group of four of us and proprietor Dan went to Kelp Beach on a 4x4 tour. Great number of Gentoo penguins with some Magellan and a King Penguin. Separate beach a large number of adult and young southern elephant seals. Very picturesque too.

90 minutes journey which was half off-road.

We also saw some war sites and a tour of Stanley. The tour was supposed to be 5 hours but was several hours.

Dan is extremely personable and very knowledgeable. Good communication.

Not as many penguins as our friends who went to Volunteer Point. However much closer. We were on the beach by ourselves whilst Volunteer Beach was busy. Some of our cruise lines tours were much more expensive and a disappointment.

I had a really good evening kayaking trip in William Bay, a great way to see the wildlife close up and a peaceful, enjoyable experience. The kayaks were very stable and you kept nice and warm in the dry suits. We paddled round a tussac island, seeing dolphins, shearwaters, tussacbirds and penguins, and were followed back for a long way by an inquisitive seal. Dan and Alice run a well-organised trip, providing all the kit you need. I thoroughly recommend it.

If you want to see sea lions and penguins then this is the place to go. Got off our small boat and sea lions were laying on the dock sunning. A short way away is a beach with penguins. We had a local guide take us in his Jeep and showed us the sites. You can see old battleships from the war and even cannons on a small nature hike.

A Seventh generation Falkland’s family provided an outstanding experience touring Stanley area for wildlife and birds. We witnessed up close plenty of penguins and elephant seals (amazing) and had the opportunity of all all day tour for four at a berry reasonable cost. Lunch and breaks were provided at no cost and even featured home baked food as well as supermarket goodies. Dan, his mum and sister are so well prepared.

We had a brilliant trip kayaking with Dan from Falkland Outdoors, very knowledgeable. A seal lion popped his head up in between out kayaks. A trip not to be missed.

Went with Fran who was absolutely lovely, couldn't do enough for us and grew up in the Islands. Highly recommend the tour to anyone visiting, and if you get a chance get Fran to take you. We had a great time.

Worst "tour" ever. Owner was tied up doing "something else" and so sent his mom to handle the tour. She was very inexperienced and had little information to share. We drove an hour to Berthas Beach but could not get in (gate was locked). We then spent another hour looking for someone with a key but had no luck. Finally, we just drove back to Stanley and she dropped us off at a hotel for lunch on our own. Fran tried hard but just couldn't get things down. When she dropped us off she was in tears and commented that we had spent three hours on the island and had seen nothing. We felt sorry for her. If I could give zero stars I would. Frankly, the son should be embarrassed, apologize to his mom, and refund our money.

Dear Ricky, Thank you for your review. I apologise for the mistakes made on this tour. Our family run business aims to give an authentic personal experience and I’m so sorry that your visit was not a success. I’m not sure you have seen but below is the message I sent to you through Viator on the evening after the tour trying to explain and apologise. ‘Hi Ricky, Firstly it was nice to briefly meet you today. Secondly I would like to apologise for the failed tour. As I'm sure you're aware there was a communication error where the landowners misread our email and as a result the gate was left locked. I'm really sorry you didn't get to see the penguins as we planned. If you would like to request a refund through viator of course we will accept. Also on the off chance you ever do get down to the Falklands again we would offer a free 2hr tour of Stanley and the beaches and penguins as an apology! I hope you have better luck on the rest of your journey and sorry again for the mistakes today. All the best, Dan’ There was a communication error which led to the failed access to the beach. Of course, you will be fully refunded as you can see from my previous message and if you do get down this way again, we would like to offer a free tour as an apology. I’m also sorry that the guide was not suitable for you. Falklands Outdoors is a family run business and on busy days like this occasion, we may have two/three family guides working, Fran my mother, Peter my father and Kyle my brother all regularly guide trips. We like to offer more than just tourist information and want you to gain an understanding of the Falklands way of life, by doing so we offer personal trips by people who have lived here in the Falklands their whole lives and who are passionate about life here. Fran takes a lot of pride in her trips and really enjoys meeting people and although we were let down on this trip I’m sure you can vouch for how much she cared about Falklands Outdoors letting you all down. This was an unfortunate experience, and we won’t make the same mistake again.
