It was an amazing experience. We were so lucky to have chosen Kidney cove tours. Adrian and Lisa gave us a fantastic time, we saw all 4 species and enough time to spend amongst them. We were only 8 visitors and hundreds of penguins.
I can highly recommend Kidney Cove tours

I found Kidney Cove Tours when the tour I wanted to take on a cruise was unavailable—and i now realize that Kidney cove tour was a much better experience than the original tour would have provided. Adrian—the owner of the property —was the contact for the tour and met us at the port. In our group, there were 2 vehicles—a driver and 3 passengers in each. The driver of my vehicle was Sarah, one of Adrian’s neighbors. Adrian’s property is about 11,000 hectares and we were on his property for the entire tour. He has a beautiful property and it was clear to see he was very proud of it. It was such a joy to see 4 different kinds of penguins! And Adrian’s wife made the best cookies for us as a snack! Highly recommend Kidney Cove Tours!

Amazing day with Lisa and Nathan! There were 4 of us in our jeep. They took us all over their gorgeous land. It was a cold, rainy (off & on) day but the tour was still fabulous! We saw 4 different kinds of penguins in various beautiful spots. Lisa told us a lot about her family and the history of the Falkland Islands. Very special people, very special tour!

If you’re seeking an up-close encounter with penguins, Kidney Cove Tours is your ticket. Their family owned sheep ranch is home to four different types of penguins. Don’t miss this chance to walk among these flightless wonders of the Falkland Islands in a private setting.

First off, Adrian and his family are such wonderful people. Friendly, proud Falklanders - 7 generations and knowledgeable. You will not regret this experience.

We had traveled to Falklands 10 years previously and wanted a different penguin experience. I wanted to see the rockhoppers! I was not disappointed.

Adrian is very fast to communicate and always available. I do recommend that if you are on a cruise ship that you reach out to others on the ship if they are taking the same tour. So much easier if you are all on the same tender to get ashore.

We were lucky to be able to do this tour on Dec 11th. It was truly a miserable weather day, but that did not stop us or hinder our tour in any way, because really when you are looking at penguins, who are so cute, who cares about the weather! Just make sure you dress in layers and have a water/windproof outer layers.

Even luckier, we were also able to do this excursion on Dec 26th as well. We were on a different ship and had the option to do other things on the island, but we decided to to out to Kidney Cove a second time. We were so glad we did. One it was better weather, but most of all the rookery was full of chicks. The 2 weeks made a huge difference, because there were rockhopper chicks everywhere.

We also saw a lonely macaroni penguin and a Northern Rockhopper. hundreds of Rockhoppers, King Penguins, Gentoos and Magelanic, along with Imperial Comorant, Steamer Ducks, Upland Geese, Oyster Catchers, Turkey Vultures and more.

A couple of things to note, don't worry that Adrian doesn't take your money when you book the tour. Cruise ships that go to the Falklands have a 50/50 chance of being able to anchor, so he accepts your payment when you are on land. He will be there at the dock to meet you. You then drive out to the farm, payment is then made and off you go. Lisa makes a great shortbread! Yum.

An amazing tour, don't hesitate to book it was a highlite of our 6 weeks of travel.

If you have been to other islands, such as Pebble, Bleaker etc., this is not worth going at all. Volunteer Point is much better if you only have 1 day in Stanley.

My husband and I had the most amazing day on this tour! Our driver was awesome, so informative and a proud Islander! Perfect sized group, great weather, soooo many penguins! Would highly recommend this tour! Timing was great - although cruise ship folks all need to have their act together to get off on the earliest tenders to not negatively impact others on the tour. Just a fabulous home- grown tour. Adrian, fyi, you could charge a lot more $$ for this experience - it is just awesome!!

Adrian is the owner of Murrell Farm and knows all the sites. There are four separate penguin species and lots of other birds. The site is close to Stanley, yet gives a real sense of life in Camp, with some off road driving. Kidney Cove is a beautiful place with pink sand and dunes filled with Sea cabbage plants. I also got taken to enjoy the fine views from Look Out Hill, seeing the old gun position there. If you have a limited time on the islands, yet want to see outside of Stanley, this is the trip for you. Thoroughly recommended.

Beautiful scenic drive to see penguins. Note, half the time is spent driving in 4x4 to see penguins. Operators took care to make us comfortable.
