Description:

If you want to feel like you have stepped back in time and are taking in...

If you want to feel like you have stepped back in time and are taking in the surroundings like the first settlers, then check out the Capitán Haase Settler’s Route Sunset Cruise. This unique water voyage is set upon a 65-foot long wooden vessel that has all of the trimmings of a boat from the early 1900s. The boat holds up to 50 passengers and begins its sail around Lake Llanquihue from its own private pier. It heads south from Puerto Varas, giving guests a chance to see the private beaches and houses on the southern shores of the lake. The total package includes a cocktail, open bar, music, troll fishing, bilingual guide, and if you’re lucky, a great sunset. Although it is a bit touristy and not the cheapest option for enjoying the evening twilight, it’s not often that one can say they set sail on a true colonial ship.

There's no better way to enjoy a beautiful afternoon and a sunset on the lake. Capitan Haase is a gorgeous traditional-style vessel which sales every afternoon from the port close to the center of town in Puerto Varas. They offer food and beverage service on board. If your lucky you might even be treated to live music. Great for couples... More

Food is good and the ship is charming, but it does look like they really don't want to spend the fuel for a real cruise outside of the Puerto Varas bay.

Average sunset cruise. Great if you get a good day. A little light handed on the drink pours. Nothing extrordinary.

We took an sunset sail on Lake Llanquihue on board the Capitan Haase. Tough name but great old time sailing ship. We took off while there was plenty of light, going from one beautiful end of Puerto Varas to the other, on the "bay". Then they put out the sails and we headed north, all the while drinking lovely pisco... More
