The lake seems like and ocean- it has small waves with wind, a little beach downtown Puerto Varas. The views, when the sun comes out, of Volcanoes Osorno and Cabulco are really breathtaking. You can take boat trips on the lake.
We just walked along the lake shore. It is quiet, beautiful, as is portrayed with Vulcan Osorno at the other side.
This is a very scenic boat ride on a beautiful lake. It reminded me of Lake Tahoe. When we were there the mist was hanging in the canyons that came down to the lake creating a beautiful scene.

Views are amazing from anywhere around the lake. Great restaurants and hotels. Great way to know the culture in this area. The views of the mountains are incredible. The area is known for its cattle and dairy. I recommend trying a streak and the cheeses.
