Fun inexpensive experience in Santiago! We also went to the restaurant right by it (the big white house) and it was great!

Went there a few times and it's always great. Once we got to the Zoo by walking (challenging, but great if you enjoy long walks/hikes). The view of the city is stunning, the zoo is quite big and the part of the saint statue is pretty nice too! In one of the times, we found this great local guide - the Llama.

The Cerro San Cristobal is deceptively higher than it looks from below, the views across Santiago to the Andes is spectacular. There is a cheap cable car available or a funicular railway, take your choice. Choose as clear a day as possible, the smog will dictate how far you can see

Great gathering green space for people. We took the funicular up and did a circuit with the cable car (teleferico) and then took the funicular down. Bought tickets online for a total price for two adults for $9.31 USD. At the top of the funicular (we did not get off at the midway point which is an option) is a great viewing area of the city (best when weather is clear), a church, statue of St. John Paul 2 near where he said Mass in 1984, and a 45 foot statue of the Blessed Virgin. There are merchandise and food vendors in this area also. Other things to do include a zoo, botanical gardens, wooden playground equipment, and swimming pools.

If you go to Santiago you must visit this place! But unless you are athletic you should get driven to top. Pretty good aerobic exercise walking to top!
