This used to be a really nice place, we are told. Now, the neglect around this once prized place is so easy to see. Listen up, re-make this place.

Huelen Hill is a small hill in the center of Santiago. The hill is the remains of a volcano, thought to be over 15 million years old. The hill comprises of a large park adorned with facades, stairways and fountains. Go to the top of the hill for great views over the city, popular with tourists. The climb to the top is not too difficult if you are young and fit, however, someone older or physical challenged , may struggled with the accent; the steps are stone and uneven. We cheated and took a taxi, but were still able to appreciate the views and the area.

This is a nice park / garden in the centre of the tourist area of Santiago. It's steep in places but the top gives a good view of the inner city. If you want an hour away from the busy city this is a good option.

If you are looking for an outdoor activity in Santiago, this hill is the place for you. It has beautiful fountains; gardens; special outdoor patios and walking trails. History and nature gather here. The vault of Benjamin Vicuña Mackena, an important politician, lies here, on one of the sides of the hill. Take 2 things into consideration: some places are slippery so don´t wear heels. Always sneakers. It also can get very wet and hot, so only on the top you´ll find one place to buy sodas and water. Consider bringing your own bottle of water.

This was a panned stop that was a must see for us. Our advance research didn't let us down. This was a spectacular experience all the way around. The views and the grounds were absolutely stunning. Great memory!
