I saw an exhibition about whales that was interesting, but you have another floors to visit, a small store selling tipical products from Chile, a restaurant/cafe, etc. If you are close to Palacio La Moneda, it worth a while to a quick visit.
Palacio de la moneda is an amazing place to visit and it always has some exposition available. It also has a place for kids to play around, so if you are traveling with your family you will feel happy to see your kids playing there.
Upstairs, you have the presidential palace you can walk through (you may have to reserve). Underground, you have a changing variety of exhibits with quite a variety of different themes (I saw one on old samurai armor). It can get crowded in the afternoon.
Visited the Centro Cultural Palacio de la Moneda during the time where there was an exposition about Andy Warhol's art. I got to enjoy lots of his artworks as well as a very detailed description and timeline of his life milestones. Although I had to...More

The entrance is a narrrow ramp, the water wall does nothing to cool this space, no seats outside except for smokers, no greenery except a sad tree.
Inside is more like the central space of a shopping mall than a museum.

According to Biobiochile, a Chilean news portal, the current exhibit is: Great Latin American Artists (until July 22nd, 2018). It covers 6 different topics: "Imagined, landscapes, Word and machine, The artist's image, America looks at the Other [note that "America" in Latin America means the totality of the double continent], The lived-in body ["The body we inhabit ?], and Humor and violence in Latin America. I haven't seen this exhibit, but given the excellence of the exhibit I visited in November 2017, this promises to be very stimulating and fascinating.
