About
Costanera Center opened its doors in June of 2012 in Providencia, one of Santiago’s most happening neighborhoods. With more than 197,000 square meters of floor area, it is Chile’s and Latin America’s largest mall and one of the most important on the continent. Thanks to its location, connection with the community and access to public transportation, it is easily accessible from many different parts of Santiago. Visitors love the more than 300 stores distributed throughout six thematically-organized floors including exclusive boutiques and the best international brands such as H&M, Banana Republic, Gap, Topman, Aristocrazy, Hugo Boss, Guess and Zara, among others. An exclusive benefits program called “On Tour Costanera Center” is available to foreign tourists. The discount bracelet opens the door to enticing offers at more than 100 stores. To register, go to the On Tour booth on the second floor of the mall, show your foreign passport or ID and enjoy the program s benefits. Costanera Center also has a wide variety of the best culinary options including a strip with different types of restaurants, a 2,000 person capacity food court, 12 Premium movie theaters and a supermarket, in addition to other services. And that is not all... Sky Costanera was recently opened on the upper floors of the tower. This highest observation deck in Latin America is 300 meters high and is the only one with a 360-degree view of Santiago. Sky Costanera is open every day of the year, except state holidays, and offers free guided visits in three languages. Costanera Center has undeniably become a Santiago icon and is a must-see for locals and tourists alike.

Highest tower in South America with fantastic views.
Fast lift to panoramic views with multilingual signs and information. Very clean, nice coffee bar in the day and a restaurant in the evening. Helpful hosts. On the way down you exit via the gift shop. The tower also houses a huge shopping centre, at the time we visited all set up for Christmas. Amazingly clean public toilets, and many of them. Opens 10am and you can spend a good couple of hours here.

A GREAT VIEW FROM THE TOP!
The view at the top of the tallest building in South America is amazing. It gives a complete idea of the city. We visited while on a city tour and the guide could show us the entire valley and surrounding mountains.

    Good day out!
Interesting shopping mall with loads of shops and eating places. They also had some unique sores as well selling local crafts, hand made things etc. Quite pricey when you compared with the same items bought in Europe. They have a huge food court and a tower where you can have wonderful views of the city should you want to. Very busy place too!

Quite expensive at US$18 to go to the top but ultimately worth it,
Quite expensive at US$18 to go to the top, but at least it is to the top of the tallest building in South America. No line, paid, straight in the elevator to the top, the 61st floor. Good views in all directions although photographs could be difficult with reflections and some windows having many small black dirt spots. There is an escalator up one more floor to the 'Open Sky' floor. Unfortunately this didn't mean open with no windows or anything, there's still glass windows everywhere it's just there's no roof.

The views from the Costanera Centre are spectacular. There is a great cafe where you can have cocktails watching the sun go down. Very popular place. We bought tickets during the day without any queues and returned later for the sundowners.
The reason for the low score is the scam taxi service we had in the morning. We decided to visit the Japanese gardens approx 9k away. It was a sweltering day too hot to do the 30 mins walk so we took a black and yellow taxi from outside the centre.
The very friendly taxi driver pointed to his meter showing us it was on zero. We thought it strange but honest. We were stuck in traffic around the centre and the meter was clocking up rapidly we were at CLP$10000 (£10) without moving very far. We pointed out to the taxi driver there was something wrong with his meter but he explained there was a different rate from the mall. We were getting more and more nervous about the rising cost and repeatedly questioned the rate. The final bill was CLP$27200,000 (£27) Judging by other journeys in Santiago it should have cost between £3- £4. The door was locked and taxi driver wouldn't open until we paid him including the $200 small change which he insisted on.
We were later told that they have a switch on the meters so when he showed us him setting the clock to zero he was in fact making the switch.
The Costanera centre should be doing something to clean this up and stop scamming tourists.

Black and Yellow taxis are Criminals!

Outside the Costanera Center there are dangerous taxis.
And so are the men directing you to the black and yellow taxis.

When you try to pay and you give them a 10.000 CLP bill they secretly change it for a 1.000 and say you gave the wrong amount.
I gave the driver three 10.000 CLP and he immediately held up three 1.000 bills and told me I had made a mistake.
The roof light inside the Taxi was blue in color making it very difficult to see the numbers on the bills.

And the cost, on the meter, was at least three times if not more than what it should have been.

In Santiago do not use the yellow and black taxis.
They are dangerous and they are criminals.
Only use Uber or some other Taxi service.

Costanera Center in Santiago is a multi-storey building and is the biggest mall in South America. There are several shops at different levels. Food court has plenty of eating options. Entrance to the Mirador via elevator to the top of Sky Costanera building can be accessed at the base of Costanera Center. It seems to be crowded at most times. But certainly worth visiting.

It depends on the time you visit the place but most of the time is crowded . Need to be careful about people that gets too close to you, with a friend we happen to have an incident of robery at the jumbo. At the end she recover her purse but it took long time to have it back

Just a large (5 levels) mall in the tálese building in Latín America. Normal stores you would expect. Basic to average (fast) food court.

Unless you are going to “Sky Costanera” sight seeing from the top floor don’t bother.

Just 15-20 minutes' walk from the Santiago Sheraton, I liked how the Costanera Center shops were organised on separate floors catering for different markets - men, women, tech, outdoors. It made it much easier if you were in a hurry to go to the right area. We focussed on outdoor hiking goods, and in the Mammut shop, although it didn't have what we were after, staff directed us to another store a few blocks away where we could get it - good customer service. There's also a large supermarket on the ground floor. Definitely worth a visit.
