My wife, adult daughter and I walked up the hill to the sanctuary this month. About one hour long walk in the hot sun from pio no I. .Well worth the effort to see the church, statue, and view of the city.
Take the funicular to the top of Cerro San Cristobal to visit the chapel below the statue and other religious structures. It is not easy to get a nice photograph of the statue reigning above the hill due to communication towers in the area.
