Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Valparaiso is a city unlike any other, and this hill is one of the best examples of its charm. Take one of the ascensores to get up to the top, then wander the narrow streets, see the painted murals, discover hidden passageways, be amazed by the spectacular views. There are lots of small shops where you can buy locally made handcrafts and tons of restaurants, ice cream places, and coffee shops where you can rest and recharge. I've been here dozens of times and it never fails to enchant.

This may be the best maintained neighborhood in Valparaiso. While much of the city is run down, a lot of boutique hotels and nice restaurants have popped up in Cerro Alegre. It's also quieter than some other parts of the city. I felt very "at home" after a few days of staying there.

Not enough words to describe this beautiful area in Chile. Valparaiso is just an artist haven. The sheer colors make the streets glow. You just want to never stop exploring this magnificent place. Each wall tells a different story!

We did a street art walking tour. It started down by the port and went through downtown. It was way way too busy down there. Then we get up to Cerro Alegre and Cerro Concepcion and suddenly all was good. Great art, a relaxed feeling, good people and good cafes/restauraunts. We stayed up here too. Great place.

You walk you look and then there is so much more to see. The mixture of colour is just amazing and you cannot stop taking great looking photos. A must see.

This is one of a number of significant hills in Valparaiso and was established in the 19th century by predominately British and some German migrants. It has colorful houses and some nice gardens (and grafitti) and worth a drive through.

Cute neighborhood with nice views. Set up originally by British settlers to the port. Good restaurants and cafes. Expensive, lots of places still run down.

This is a charming area. It is gorgeous to walk around in and there are so many little mysteries down little lane ways and stairs.

Cerro alegre and Cerro Concepción are beautiful places that you need to know if you are in Valparaíso (although you'll have to walk a lot! You are warned). Thousands of people visit these hills every summer to aprecciate their streets full of amazing murals and their popular pointviews like the Paseo Yugoslavo.

Cerro Alegre is a beautiful place to visit. There are so many places and things to do. The best you can do is wear comfortable shoes and walk as much as you can. It's so colourful and the people there are very kind. There are some pleaces where you cam shop and a lot of restaurants where you can eat. It's a bit expensive but it worth it. Visit this place you won't regret it.
