This area would've been more of a highlight of our trip if the city decided to manicure the area a little bit more. There's a few cool things to see but really nothing spectacular.

This is an area worth looking at by walking nearby as well as viewing from the upper levels of Valpariso To look at this area tells about why it was originally planned as a shipping powerhouse until the canal meant no longer the only shipping route.Much of this was pointed out to us on our tour of the area by... This is a really different town that at first blush looks like a run down, dirty, port town with little to offer...and if you only get to see it for a few hours during a cruise stop, that's what you will likely leave with. Guide books call it bohemian, but first impression is just funky. But Valpo is not about... More

Went to eat seafood at the port and then headed to Viña de Mar. Some good shots for tourists but 3 hours might be enough to get a idea.

You would hardly notice these towers while walking through the plaza. They look more imposing if on a boat in the harbour.

I cannot believe this is a port where cruise ships come to. The view from Valparaiso to the sea is incredible...but that's it! As you walk the hills of this city you see nothing but torn up buildings that need fixing and paint and some should just be torn down. Even the nice(?) homes or buildings are so covered with... A short taxi ride from any part of Valparaiso to the cruise port. A shuttle bus then takes you from the terminal to the ship.

Valparaiso counts a unique landscape and historical architecture together with important commerce that was an icon before the channel of Panama was opened. Many sailors from around the world, stoped in this Port to trade their products and many decided to stay for good, giving many European and multicultural ethnic to the country, Ale Mcalister
