Beautiful old building in the main square, but it has history. It used to be the town hall, apparently, but ws taken over by the Navy in 1973, at the very start of the Military Coup. It seems that they have forgotten to return it...More

Very well kept, reflecting the wealth from early days. The blue color links to the navy and matches we the opposite sea side.

The most obvious landmark was the pale blue grey and white Armada de Chile building which dominated the Plaza Sotomayor in the port area of Valparaiso. Worthy of any navy. Too bad we were unable to go inside, but the building itself was worth the...More

The Navy Building is located right in Plaza Sotomayor, very close to the ocean. The building is stunning - although you cannot visit inside - it's worth it for its facade. It cannot be missed.

Not only is the Navy Building a grand piece of architecture, but you can view most of the Chile Navy fleet in the harbour directly in front.

The Armada building is old but well presented and covers an entire side of the square . It is adjacent to several other well restored buildings including Victoria Hotel

The navy building is situated in the main square and is a beautiful piece of architecture. You can't miss it when walking in town.

The building is quite impressive. It is quite unique in the city image. It is a shame that it is on the very lame plaza with all the traffic around
