Unbelievably beautiful!

I visited here as part of the Quito free walking tour. The inside is absolutely breath taking and I felt a real sense of peace. Great for a quick visit!

Note: there is a subway being built in Quito, and a subway station is currently being built directly in front of this church -... More

The church itself dates back to the 17th century and includes a lot of masterworks from the Quito school of painters from both the 17th and 18th century. Most of the art works are on display in the museum next to the church in addition to beautiful courtyards where you can take pictures. The entry fee of $2.50 per adult... More

On a previous visit during Easter week in 2014, we could not even get close to the church as they were holding outdoor masses and the place was mobbed. On our visit yesterday it was a very different story. Half of the plaza in front of the church was cordoned off as they as doing construction for a metro. The... More

Beautiful church. If you in the old town, go inside. We visited the old town on Good Friday so it was difficult to look around because the church was very crowded. But from what we were able to see, the interior is beautiful.

Not only is it easy to get there; it's a must-see located in the historical center of the city. And the best of it all when you are traveling: it has a WiFi hotspot! You can get there using public transportation, so very convenient. You can't miss it. Just make sure you walk a bit down the streets around this... More
