Since we were staying in Old Town, thought we needed to at least visit Mariscal while in Quito. Took a $5 cab ride thru rush hour to experience, even during the week, a vibrant section of town. Walked several blocks but settled in the center...More

Loads of bars and. restaurants crammed into plaza Foche, very friendly and noisy part of the town, plenty of choices of places to eat and drink and with lots of people hangout around the central square.

So it seem this is a place to see and be seen. Not sure the food is good, it is touristic. Locals called it "gringo" that says it all. But do go for beer to check it off the list

Since my hotel was near by, I just walked during the day. Ugly, dirty, unsafe. Full of strange places and weird people. Went for food somewhere else. And will never go there at night.

Definitely for the young crowd! Lots of restrauants and bars. Constant hassle from sellers of crafts and restraunt bookers but they are easy to put off. Worth a walk through. Very busy Fridays but quiet on Sunday.

If you are traveling in Quito you should take some time in te evening and come to this overcrowded place. Many options for a drink or a dinner like at Miskay.

If you want to have a fun, safe evening this is the place to be. Tons of restaurants. Lots of activity.
