If you live in Quito this is a great place to get vegetables and foodstuff you cannot find elsewhere, and to buy fish and hornado. If you are a tourist who looooves markets it is a great place.

You can find every equatorial fruits you wish. I recommend papaya and pitaya best. You can also sip fresh fruits juice here.

This was the best market we've found thus far, beautiful, lots of selection, very fresh produce, produce not found elsewhere (sweet potatoes, pomegranates), clean, vendors courteous and helpful. We didn't even make it to the outside area. Next time!
