I think this museum is well done and very interesting. It starts off by describing the environmental aspects of the city, then the ancient civilizations that resided in it, and then goes through it's colonial history. If you like history and getting to know a...More

We really enjoyed learning more about Ecuador's indigenous peoples and the history of the country and area. Aside from being informative, the museum was actually aesthetically pleasing, with a beautiful courtyard in the middle and a fountain as well.

I rode the hop on hop off bus to get here and had difficulty finding the front desk. The visit was well worth the minor hassle. As soon as I approached the front desk, a guide greeted me in a friendly manner. He asked if...More

I loved this museum! The museum itself is a really beautiful old hospital, which adds to the historical value of this place. You start on the bottom floor in pre-Incan times, moving through to Incan history, history of Spanish colonization, and history of Ecuador's journey...More

Considering it's telling the history of Quito, this museum is in a very modern setting, with 21st century exhibits. It's only $3 to visit and because everything is labelled in Spanish only, make sure you take the tour with the English speaking guide, which is...More

It's probably not a destination I would walk a mile to see, but if you are within a block or two, this makes for a nice short stop. History of Quito for the last 400 plus years.

The museum is not large and can be viewed in under an hour. I was disappointed at how little of the information was in English. It wasn't a particularly informative visit consequently. This museum could be skipped if your time is limited in Quito.

It's not very big and doesn't seem that popular, but I'm glad we went. The courtyard is very nice, and I liked the atmosphere.
