This is a great place to visit an learn about the history and culture of the straw hat known as "Panamá Hat", also, to buy hats of high quality at good prices, with great selections for men and women.

It was interesting to see how the hats are made, see them all stacked, coloured and shaped. Unfortunately there was a busload of teenage girls at the same time & they spoiled it a bit. But it was fascinating

Very friendly staff who are willing to help with any question. The terrace with the attached cafe is really cute and you have an amazing view over Cuenca and the surrounding mountains. The owners are also always around and also very friendly and helpful. On Saturdays at 11 am they offer on the terrace typical Cuenca dances with traditional clothing.

The guide was interesting and we really enjoyed our tour though the factory. The signs in English were a help since our Spanish is not great. We learned quite a bit about how the hats are made. The guide had a great eye. The first hat she put on my husband was perfect. Next she brought another in a very... More

Purchased both a bag and a hat! Met the owner who was wonderful! They took us back into wher they make the hats and we were able to see how its done. I had my hat fitted to my head and they persalized the decoration. In the back there is a wall with photos of different stars wearing the hats-Breaking... More

Nice to have the possibility to visit how panama hats are manufactured. The visit is free, up to you to buy at the shop in the end. They will obviously try to sell but you are not pressured to buy. Re buying: come here if you are looking for a serious hat (prices from $40+). If you just want a... More

The factory tour was informative but at least with our guide seemed a little rushed and incomplete -- not sure if it was the time of our visit (late afternoon) or characteristic, but one really didn't get a sense of hats being made so much as stories about how they are made. In any case, at the end, they take... More

My husband and I visited here and were very surprised how nice the tour was. We both learned a lot about Panama Hats. The best part is that you end the tour in their shop where you can try on all different styles of hats. It was really fun! My husband bought us both beautiful, handmade hats. I highly recommend... Seriously, if you are serious about buying a quality sombero de paja toquilla (Panama hat) you need to visit here. Even if you do not buy here you will gain a lot of respect for the amount of work that goes into a hat. You can buy a tourist quality hat just about anywhere for about $15 but if you... More

We went on the tour twice, it does help understanding the complexity of making those beautiful hats. Also at the end you get to try any of the hats you want, bring your camera :)
