Very well laid out with books to please every taste. It’s easy to find a book you would like because the store is divided in well marked sections. There is a sofa where you can sit down and read a book or the newspaper. The...More

I was pleasantly surprised to find this shop in Cuenca. A great selection of English language "vacation reading" (murder mysteries, romance, sci-fi, historical fiction), plus lots more for the serious minded. The staff are helpful and do speak English. I picked up two paperback novels,...More

When we entered the store, the employee(s) were mingling amongst themselves, near the computer. I saw a sign that read, 'adult coloring books,' and mentioned out loud multiple times that, I would like to find them. But, nobody approached us. I tried to get their...More

They give you $2 per book then turn around and sell them for up to $13 or so. Got to be kidding! Better bet is to try CEDEI Wednesdays 10-1, at Gran Columbia 11-02 and General Torres.

I live in Quito, and here I can recommend 2 or 3 bookstores with books in English. Carolina is in the same category: it is large, spacious and has tons of books. Every time I travel to Cuenca I stop by the bookstore to see...More

Very relaxed atmosphere and a huge selection of international and english books. With a great number of Spanish language books and very helpful staff. I think the prices are at the high end of second hand, however they offer an excellent exchange scheme to compensate.
