Not sure what I was expecting, but if you're not looking explicitly to buy a hat, I would not recommend a visit. Pretty touristy, not much heart in the explanations, but hey, the hats are nice.

We visited both this establishment and the Homero Ortega facility near the bus terminal and this place pales in comparison. It feels a little tourist trappy. In all honesty the entire experience including an extensive tour was much better at Ortega.

We were recommended this place, also called "Museo del sombrero", to check-out the process in creating handmade "Panama hats" which are in fact originally from Ecuador. They also have a superb shop, where they assist you in getting the right size hat, and personalize it...More

Went here to see the museum, which is quite small and best to ask someone to give you a tour (which they will do...though not too apparent). I thought it was very interesting to learn how the hats are made...the entire process. You can get...More
