Very well maintained, with multilingual guides. You walk in the past of the nuns who lived there. It's simply unmissable.

You start the visit by pitying the young things who were cloisteted there by their family, and progressively your perception evolves in this beautiful environment. Young aristocrats were keeping their servants and enjoyed an education not granted to girls at the time. So you could...More

An insight of society and religion in colonial times, the stories of the inhabitants in this monastery, actually, nuns, their families, and their slaves. Who were the chosen one to become life long nuns devoting themselves to praying? Very interesting guided tour. (Please, take the...More

We decided to not take a tour because the entrance ticket was already high (if you are a student they won’t accept your ISIC card, they only accept the one expedited by the Peruvian educational institution) so you will have to pay full price. It...More

We had this high on our list of places to visit because it was more than just art or artifacts, it was an opportunity to view how the monks/nuns actually lived. We saw homes of the novice nuns, the regular nuns and also the communal...More

Get here early. I arrived around 9.30 am and spent 3 hours visiting every nun's cell, the streets, cloisters and gardens. So much history and beautifully presented. You may want a guide for the little extras, but I consumed enough information from the English descriptions...More

Amazing experience, make sure you block out at least 2-3 hours to view this attraction as it is easy to get lost in the ambience of the place. Well worth the visit!

I paid for a guide and it was worth it to hear the history and explain about the art work. It is a little expensive, but I'm glad I experienced the Monasterio.

Worth a visit. There are guides once you enter. I encourage you to take a guided tour—inexpensive—5 soles. Very good value otherwise you may not know what you’re looking at. I was disappointed that the church was not open. Lovely cafe on the grounds.
