Although interesting, I found the tour here a little too long. The history is interesting, particularly finding out how pleasant life was for the inhabitants. There is a lovely cafe inside with delicious cakes and you can relax and enjoy a cuppa before heading back...More

I wasn’t sure about visiting a convent but I’m so pleased I did. The history was very interesting and our tour guide very informative.

This is an amazing little village in the centre of the old city. We took advantage of a guided tour just for the 4 of us which I would recommend.

If you visit one place in Arequipa, you must visit the Monasterio de Santa Catalina. It is more expensive than other places, 40 soles each, however, there is so much to see. It is a photographers paradise! There is a small cafe half-way though the...More

This monastery is unlike anything else I've ever seen. It's basically a self contained mini town. Absolutely huge inside with many winding streets and areas for you to explore. Definitely recommended.

Be sure to get the tour, it is only 10 soles per person and is definitely worth it as it puts context to what you are looking at.

I could have spent twice as much time here and would not be adverse to returning. Historic, beautiful and quite unexpected. There is a night time tour that I will take when I return and I missed tasting the orange cake the nuns reportedly make.
