Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We hiked to the Sogay waterfalls this morning. Sogay is about an hour by car from Arequipa and takes you by several traditional towns and beautiful terraced countryside. The hike to the falls is between 7 and 8 kilometers depending on whether you start in town or at the end of the road, It is moderately strenuous. and requires jumping over rocks or getting your feet wet to get to the actual falls. Finish up the excursion by going to a traditional Picanteria for lunch in one of the neighboring towns.

A place where you can get away from the city and breathe fresh air . It is approximately a 2-hour city bus , which leaves you in the village of Sogay a very quaint and pretty village .I recommend that if you don't took water or soft buy something there. The hike to reach the falls in delay is one and a half to two hours . Blocker, cap and trekking shoes are essential. The falls are not very big but it's a very nice place and perfect to spend a morning in the countryside landscapes.

A nice idea to get out of the city for a walk in the countryside, but this place was just too far away to be worth the time. Turned out to be a nice river and farming valley, but not a spectacular waterfall by any means. Plus there is NOTHING out there - Sogay has a cute square and tiny church, but that's all except for the houses of people who lives there. So don't go with small kids or anyone needing any service at all - there is nothing. No food, restaurants, or anything of any kind. Nice to see farmers who lives outside of the city, but not worth the effort it takes to get there and back, for an average at best walk. Find a different hike instead.
