This was a last minute decision for us as we were thinking of doing a trek to colca canyon. Instead we had an amazing half day learning about and tasting different kinds of chocolate! Will forever be checking labels and sniffing for cocoa butter now. Such a good experience, with an amazingly charming and funny host. The guy definitely loves his chocolate!

How sad I am to have taken this fabulous workshop. My favorite chocolates have proven to have fraudulent claims. The workshop was ever so much fun and our teacher was immensely knowledgeable. A small class, lots of tasting and good skills learned.

Adrian did a wonderful job in our workshop. From beginning to end he was enthusiastic, attentive and very informative. We thought we new a lot about chocolate before this class, but we were wrong! From the cacao pod breakdown process to the blind taste test we enjoyed every minute. Upon finishing the class we immediately went downstairs and bought several bars of this amazing chocolate!

This was a great workshop. Adrian was a fountain of information, very entertaining and his passion made the experience very enjoyable. I learnt a lot about the history and what makes good chocolate and also the nasty tricks played by big companies who claim to sell chocolate. Loved the workshop.

We have just done this chocolate making workshop and really enjoyed it. Adrian was an excellent teacher who gave us lots of information about the history and benefits of pure chocolate as well as how to make pure organic chocolate. The chocolate that we made we were able to flavour to our liking and take home with us. We also bought quite a bit of chocolate in the shop there as it’s very reasonably priced for pure organic chocolate.
This is a workshop very worthwhile doing while staying in Arequipa and was one of the highlights of our stay here.

A big thanks to Adrian for this wonderful workshop! We learned so much about chocolate and even made our own :) Adrian had so much passion about his work and all the things around the chocolate, wich made it a real pleasure to listen and work ourselves. We totally recommend this workshop - we wouldn‘t wanna miss it :)

Highly informative chocolate experience. Learned history of cacao, hands on touching, preparing, tasting and making personal chocolate bon bons. Began tour knowing little and left knowing how to discern real chocolate from false chocolate. Adrian was passionate about sharing his appreciation for excellent, authentic chocolate. I highly recommend this experience.

After reading about the Chaqchao chocolate making workshop in my lonely planet guide, I was really looking forwards to going. It sounded different from the other chocolate museums I had researched in Lima etc.
Our tutor was Adrian. He was brilliant, very passionate teaching us the history of chocolate, and lots of health benefits I wasn't aware of! We learned about how it was first discovered and how it developed to the chocolate we recognise today.
Afterwards we went to the kitchen to learn about the tempering process, and made our own flavoured, organic chocolates.
The afternoon finished with a chocolate tasting, where we learned how to differentiate 'real' and 'fake' chocolates. Trickier than it sounds!
Adrian was a fantastic teacher, educating us not just on chocolate but on healthier ways to live and eat. Worth the class just to hear him speak!
(As for the chocolates, they're delicious. I'm eating one right now!)

The first person to book into each session decides the language so it is best to book in advance (a day or 2) to have the choice. There is a maximum 7-8 people per class.
