I had an amazing experience on the Laguna Humantay trek with Bioandean Expeditions. You can tell that they are the most organized group and they are very aware of everything. Our guide was well known, supportive and qualified; they have everything perfectly planned.
I did this tour without knowing much about the lagoon. I must admit that it is beautiful, although the road to get there can be a bit strenuous, it is totally worth the effort. Another advantage is that it is not as saturated with tourists as other places in Cuzco

What a wonderful hike I had. our guide, he was amazing. He was very knowledgeable about the Inca people and the history of the area, our group was well looked after by the porters who really do it all. You won't be disappointed if you choose Bioandean Expeditions for your trip!
You leave Cusco towards the Lagoon and in 3 hours you will be ready to go up, it is a journey of 1:30 minutes at a good pace, there was the option of going up on horseback but if you want to live the experience, it is recommended to climb it on foot and enjoy all the landscapes that you discover when entering the Lagoon.

I couldn't have imagined a better experience with Bioandean Expeditions! Rafael was our guide for the Humantay Lake hike and it really became family. We love it so much that we requested it for our Rainbow Mountain tour! He is so passionate about what he does and loves the community so much that he makes you appreciate and love it that much more.
The Humantay Lagoon is impressive, it deserves a steep hike that is difficult but really worth it. The landscape is beautiful and when we arrive it is simply a magical place, a turquoise lagoon at the foot of the Salkantay, the photos we took have been beautiful.

Knowing the humantay lagoon is a wonderful experience. Bioandean Expeditions took care of all the preparations for this adventure and I really do not regret it, they pick us up at the hotel at the indicated time. From that moment we were surprised by the punctuality, a guide who knew a lot about his wonderful country and again an excellent lunch, everything was respected according to the instructions of the agency.
The Humantay Lagoon is impressive and right now it is the third most visited attraction in Cusco by tourists (in front of it is Machu Pichu and the mountain of seven colors) so do not miss it. However, be prepared a little.

We did it with cuatrimotos, four wheels motorcycles... Maras and Moray. You have to do it like that, get prepared to be real dusty, but it's worth!

I took the one day hike tour with Action Peru Treks this beautiful lake and it was a nice day of hiking before we headed to hike the Classic Inca Trail the following day. Make sure you bring many layers for the cold weather.

One of the places we read about to visit was Humantay lake and when we saw the pictures of it, we knew we had to go there. However, we were taking our 4 kids ages 14, 12, 9, & 6 and were worried about having to wakeup at 4 am and traveling in the car 7 hours in one day and so we preferred an overnight stay in Humantay area to split it up a little. Cusco Adventure Transtours was able to set everything up for us for a very reasonable price including a homestay with a local family, food, transportation, and tickets. We loved the more relaxed tour and getting to also spend some time at the Salkantay glacier. We had the hike and lake to ourselves not having to wake up early and drive 3.5 hours! Such an amazing place and experience!

We started hiking at around 8 am. The drive from Cusco was 3+ hours and the last hour (maybe an hour and a half) is on a pretty lousy roads... We started hiking at around 8am and the skies were blocked with clouds ... was not happy about it. However soon the clouds disperssed and we had a wonderful clear skies when reaching the top. The hike, eventhough shorter than Rainbow Mountain, was rather steep and I would say it is a medium difficulty. If fit and no altitude sickness, you could do it in a good hour, otherwise 1,5 hour is realistic. When reaching the top, suggest you make a bit more effort and hike those few meters also to the ridge, where the color of the lake is even more beautiful and can make some wonderful photos.

We spent about an hour at the lake, then clouds started again to arrive, and guess this is kind of a similar pattern most of the days in this time of the year (June). If you're not going to Huaraz area, then definitely suggest to visit
