Historic site, heart of Inca Empire is still the heart of the city. Always busy you find beautiful churches, restaurants, touristic information, governmental buildings, souvenirs, exchange. Police always visible.

Plaza de Armas is beautiful, full of restaurants and churches that rest on top of Incan walls in the Incan capital of Cusco. It gives a good sense of both the Incan and colonial history. A lovely place to begin a visit to magical Peru.

We were here for a huge market day & learned how much you should pay for certain products. We were also here for christmas day & watched the parade celebrations. If you're ever in Cusco for a holiday (or not) the Plaza is spectacular.

The solicitations do get annoying, but other than that, I was overjoyed with my experience walking around... More

Sit for a drink or dine in one of the local restaurants across from it and enjoy people watching. The seats tend to be a little "NY style" with people sitting very close to each other, but the prime location and view will make you forget about that. Recommended for a drink at sunset.

Plaza de Armas is a must to visit if you ever go to Cusco, but spending New Years Eve here was my favorite memory of my trip. So much tradition and fun, just be careful with the fireworks.

Beautiful area to walk around and look at the beautiful buildings of Cusco. Be warned, lots of hawkers are also around this area!

Enjoyed a wonderful late afternoon walking around, taking pictures and visiting churches. The police and the local people were very friendly. Don't miss this historic place.
