Moray is a proof of architectural genius of Incas. When you learn about the purpose of the terraces and whole drainage system, you cannot help yourself praising that great civilization, so do not go there to take pictures only, although the place is very photogenic....More

The arqueological site is quite small. You can visit it easily in 30-40 minutes. Unfortunately there are no boards that give any information in english or spanisch. Therefore its advisable to take a guide. It can be done in combination with the Maras salinas, which...More

Moray was such an incredible place to see. Pictures do not do it justice! It is so large and complex. My only complaint is that I didn't have more time to explore! The complexity and reason for this structure is truly remarkable.

Moray is definitely a site to see! It's off is the main road which requires a bit of a "bumpy ride" on a dirt road. The site is small but worth the experience and pictures!

The acclimating of crops to ever higher altitudes and other tricks were clever indeed. The genius of improving on Ag production reminded me of the clever design of the round barn in the Shaker Museum in Massachusetts.

How to do Moray/Salinas on a budget: Catch a 1.5hr collectivo from Avenida Grau for 6 soles to a junction near Moras. I shared a taxi with some other tourists to the Salinas for 5 soles each way and the taxi waited. Entry to the...More

We hired a private taxi to go from Yucay to Salinas and to the Maras salt marsh. It was well worth it. Moray is a really unique Inca site, a sort of greenhouse: It is interesting to observe the exact concentricity of the terraces, the...More

This is a really nice place to visit and walk as much around it or walk all the way down to it and take it all in, it really is awesome. I actually took a walk all the way round the rim of it, and...More

Is it possible to get a bike in Cusco and ride it to maras and Moray by myself? I love to pedal because I'm a pro cyclist and would dream of doing the most of the Cusco region with my bike... thanx Amanda Lear J.

I suppose it's possible for a cyclist but it is a very mountainous region and once you get off the main road to turn to Maras, the road is not paved and very rocky. I'm sure the bike rental shops could help guide you to the... More
