Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Having the opportunity to learn about South America cuisine, my introduction came by the expertise of Eat up food tours. Being from New England, I’m familiar with sushi and common spirits like vodka, gin, etc, however participating in a ceviche class and and a pisco sour tasting was new to me and immediately made me a fan. The staff was very informative and friendly and made me feel at home.

This was a great way to get acclimated to a new culture through experiencing its food and culinary touch that made my inner fat kid very proud. If you are planning on visiting Peru, I recommend you partake in the Eat up food tours, you can thank me later and your welcome!

They come right to you, then a delicious ceviche and pisco demonstration. Then you head to a fish marke you see the large variety of fish and talk to locals. Then you visit a market to taste all kinds of foods from local ingredients. Last you stop at a traditional "criollo" restaurantand eats as much as you can of local dish's from all around Peru. 10 out of 10.

My wife and I loved this tour. Returning back to Peru we always love to try new things and I was surprised how much I learnt from this tour. Not only did we have an amazing guide but we ate some of the best food Peru has to offer, and also eat a few things I didn't know existed. This is definitely for people that want a different type of tour, visit some food markets, and not only eat but also learn about the amazing local food there is on offer. The guide really knew his stuff, very nice, and spoke perfect English and Spanish which made it easy for my wife who doesn't speak Spanish.
I cant wait to go back and do this all over again.
Thanks for the good times

I was happy to meet Jose for a tour of fisherman's wharf and the Mercado De Surquillo. Our group experienced a hands on demonstration of Peru's signature dish, ceviche, and drink, pisco sour. The ceviche is made with fresh off the boat fish, octopus, shrimp, clams and abalone. We drank the best pisco sour in Lima. Since I've been home I've made these for my friends and they have have been blown away. Jose, a Peru native, speaks perfect English. It was great to hear his life story and some of the history of Peru from a locals point of view. The market sells the freshest local fruits and local treats like cacao, kuchma, chirimoya and camu camu. Jose has worked with the vendors for a long time and makes purchasing everything a breeze.

This was my first tour during my trip to Peru and I am glad I went. It was a perfect introduction to the Peruvian culture and begain the momentum for an amazing vacation. 5 stars
