Beautiful city! Be sure you have a good guide and driver to optimize your time there. St city is unlike any other. Don,t miss the changing of the guard at the Presidential Palace.

I went on a city tour which cost $18 was picked up at my hotel in Miraflores and transfered to a larger bus with other tourists. We drove all around Miraflores and the city center. The guide was wonderful full of knowledge. Pointing out all the different important buildings and locations. Over all a good excursion to do.

In addition to the main square and the building around it, walk around the streets and you will find a lot to see.

The historic centre of Lima offers lots of fine buildings, monuments and areas, including government offices, public squares and places of worship. Some are in good condition, others have seen better times but most are worth a look. You might not be standing in a world heritage centre, as you would be slightly further north in Quito but the Peruvian... More

Lima's historic center gives you a chance to consider it long and interesting history - from the pre European times to modern days.

I liked very much Lima, especially Miraflores and Barranco. The morphology of the Lima coast makes the city very special: there is the ocean, the beach (not very nice actually), the road and then promontories some 40 meters high on which are the buildings. So, imagine the view. There are lots of parks and a promenade along the edge of... More

There are nearly two dozen places to see or visit in the historic center of Lima, from the government palace and plaza mayor to the Archbishop's Palace. It's the sheer concentration of historic monuments constructed in the time of Spanish presence in Lima. There are purportedly over 1,600 balconies built in the viceroyalty era as well as during the republic... More

The centre of Lima is fascinating. The old subterranean canals criss crossing the city, the sites of battles over the years.
