Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very nice to experience the local side of Lima with a very nice family. It was amazing to make food together with the family and try the great food that Lima has to offer! Paula and her mother were very nice and it felt very relaxed and fun to bewith the whole family.
We highly recommend this experience for all who wants to see the local side of Lima!

Sadly this was very disappointing, as much as I love to support local businesses. We booked and paid for a Private Coast Cycling Experience to start at 9am, instead we got 6 people on our tour leaving around 10am (no apology, no explanation, no refund).
We do private cycling tours all over the world: that way the guides can customise the ride according to our fitness and enjoyment level (always been successful). Today was not enjoyable and it was clear the guide just wanted to get this tour over and done with. Feel a bit ripped off, plus the fact that I felt embarrassed lagging behind (reason a nearly 60 year old lady booked a private tour and not to race with lovely 30-year olds - felt guilty keeping them up). If you want cheap group tours then yes it’s for you (nothing wrong with it, I was there too once). However if you want a private cycling tour look elsewhere.

We did the Lima street food tour with Paula. And boy was it just amazing to end our Peru trip with a filled tummy! We learnt so much about Peruvian cuisine. We had ChiFa (Chinese-Peruvia), yummy churros, and so many more! Our guide Paula was amazing and very knowledgeable. She looked after us very well. We also learnt a lot about the history of Peru. Thank you Paula for an awesome tour!

A fabulous experience! Get to know the real Lima, it's food and culture, it's people and neighborhoods. Paula and her family were incredibly warm and gracious and the food was wonderful. A definite must do.

Great experience and couldn't have asked for a better guide than Jean-Paul. Was a busy evening since it was Valentine's day but we were able to be flexible and had a good evening.

Paula offers a genuine local experience, shopping at the market, travelling on the bus to her home, meeting her mum Mercita and preparing gorgeous causa, ceviche and pisco sours in their apartment. Everything was fresh and made from scratch and we enjoyed a lovely meal as we learned about day to day life in Lima.

Before we left, Paula gave us great recommendations on her favourite Lima museums and restaurants and where to find the best coffee in Miraflores. All in all a great experience which I can really recommend for any visitor to Lima.

Jean-Paul was a great tour guide, telling us about the city, the people, the food, and general recommendations for the rest of our time in Lima. I really liked that we started out in one area of town, and took the local bus to another... it's something I never would have done as a tourist. I would have liked a bite to eat before going on an hour ride/walk around the Barranco though. As promised, we went to places frequented by locals - not a hint of tourists besides or group. I would have really liked one more stop at restaurant instead of a bar at the end (or at least a bar that serves snacks)... the drinks were great, though I was looking to try even more local foods. Great tour all around!

We felt very welcome and comfortable in the home of hostess Paula following a brief visit to a local food market and bus ride. This a very real experience where you get to learn how to make great Peruvian dishes and drinks, but also gain a real insight into local culture and lifestyle. Paula’s family provided excellent encouragement and back up support, particularly when I created a Pisco shower rather than a Pisco sour (embarrassing for me but they had seen it all before). Can highly recommend and they give you the recipes too, so you can try when you get home. Great fun that is best followed by a siesta given the great food and drinks.
