We have found everywhere we visited in Lima to be busier that what we're accustomed to at home; I'd compare it with NYC. So, expect a fair amount of traffic & pedestrians when coming to Miraflores. Light sleepers: bring earplugs! That said, it is a colorful, friendly place that offers many sites, shopping and restaurant options. And, most of it... More

Miraflores is a more affluent area of Lima consisting of hotels, restaurants, parks, small boutiques, large shops, numerous shops selling gold and silver, and anything else you could want. There are also artisan markets, many selling the usual tourist tat, others selling quality silver goods and alpaca products. It is also a relatively safe area of Lima so walking around,... More

Whether walking to one of its many restaurants or to the beach, Mira has it all. Safe and clean! The walkway in the middle of the street on Pardo has flowers and trees and lets you get to the coast safely.

Modern and well maintained part of Lima. One of the better areas from what I hear. Awesome park along the waterfront with fitness stations for a calisthenics workout, lookout points over the surf and beaches below and a nice light house on the peninsula. Tons of cafes and eateries around and plenty of other shops here too. The area seems... More

Secured area where you'll probably bump into a few fellow Americans and europeans. We walked to the water from from here and had a good time.

Amazing Restaurants, lots of surfboard rentals and lessons on the beach. I would also recommend seeing Barranco district. We stayed near Parque Kennedy at Pariwana hostel for about 5 days and it was great.

By far the best area to stay in Lima. Plenty of restaurants, shops or take a walk by the water to check out the paragliders!

To me Miraflores is the best part of Lima! The area is streets are clean, their is an officer in every corner and the view from the Boardwalk in Miraflores is spectacular.
