Hector was the BEST! We had such a blast walking through the market and cooking the freshly bought food. It was awesome to hear about his experiences in the restaurant industry. The man has some talent and a phenomenal resume! I HIGHLY recommend taking a class with him. You are missing out on a unique experience if you don't!…

We did the cooking class with Chef Hector. This was an amazing experience. He first told us a lot in the market about all the different food. Then we went to the the kitchen place where we cooked the menu. That was perfect. Hector explained everything really good and you could see that he is really experienced and professional. The most important thing ofcourse was that the food was delicious and Hector is a really nice guy! …

We had so much fun cooking with Hector! He took us around the market and showed us how to find the best fish and produce. He was a wealth of knowledge and gave us all kinds of cooking tips, not only for the food we were making together! Everything came out delicious and we made more food than we could possibly eat. I can’t wait to replicate what we learned at home. (He gave us substitution ideas for ingredients that might be harder to source at home, too!) An excellent experience for amateurs and foodies alike!…

We had an amazing experience doing the market tour and cooking class with Hector. Going to the market and seeing all of the fresh produce and meat we would cook and eat, with the added commentary from Hector telling us about the variety of local foods and pointing out things we were unfamiliar with, helped us gain an appreciation for the food we’d be making. The class itself was in a great outdoor kitchen and everything was very hands on and delicious. We made so much delicious food, it was hard to leave some of it on the table, but we were just so full! We are so looking forward to trying to recreate these recipes and what we learned with Hector back home.…

We met Hector at a local market where he took us on a small food tour explaining all Peruvian fruits, vegetables and other fascinating products and ingredients. From there we continued to Hector’s open air cooking ‘studio’. It is situated in the garden of a house in a residential area and has a really nice set-up: a large square working surface under a roof with space for 9 plus Hector, so everyone can clearly follow all instructions several selfmade cooking units for use in the garden out from under the roof good knifes and cutting boards We arrived at 3 pm and sat down for a self made dinner at 7 pm. We learned how to make 3 Peruvian cocktails and 4 Peruvian dishes! Pisco sour Pisco maracuja Chilcano and Papa la Huancaina Ceviche Glazed Sweet Patatoes Lomo Saltado The result was DELICIOUS. We had a mix of people in our group, some just came for the activity, some wanted to improve their cooking techniques. Nevertheless, alll of us had a great time. The atmosphere is really open and relaxed due to the great team and the very positive character of Hector. Those interested in the techniques really picked up a lot of tricks and improved their skills. I can REALLY recommend to take one of Hector’s Peruvian Cooking Classes. He is a chef with great experience and easily appraochable, a good combination if you want to learn stuff. PS. I suggest you have lunch or at least a sandwich before you join the afternoon session as sitting down for dinner won’t be until a few hours later. …
