Get outside and enjoy a Montevideo gem. By bike or foot, you get a long and enjoyable uninterrupted space right by the water

This promenade stretches for miles and is a lovely walk along the river. There are sectioned lanes for walkers and cyclists so totally safe. Great views along the river with plenty of children's play areas and outside gym areas.

A street along the ocean nice for a walk but I was missing some good places to stay like a bar or cafe to enjoy the sea view!

Especially in winter this is one of the windiest places in the city, which makes it very cold as well. It is a nice place to walk with family and get to know the city in a different way. If it is not too windy...More

Comfortable walk with lots of activity. Our visit was mid-winter (July 2018) and we encountered runners, walkers, and bicycles. People were friendly.

For the morning jog, or the afternoon walk, or just bicycling along with a friend, or sit down with your matè..., it all happens on the Rambla. I really enjoy this experience!

The rambla reminds me of the malecon in Havana. It hugs the shoreline and the views of each neighbourhood as you approach are amazing. It's great either day or night and quite safe. Give it a gander.

whether you like exercising, rambling, people watching or whatever, hanging out along the rambla is a neat way to spend time. The sunsets from the right places are magical

The rambla is the postcard of Montevideo. Well mantained, people really enjoy walking there at any time in the day and evenings. Unique!

Sorry, no idea. I recall seeing several membership type gyms. Perhaps a Google search and inquire if day passes are available. There are many public parks with facilities of various descriptions, though I don't... More

Looks like I'm missed you so you might have gone already. It would be quite a walk from the port to the Rambla, but you could. Maybe about 25 minutes. It's very safe during the day though. Great town.

You can stay at soffitel in Carrasco, nice hotel and walking distance to restaurants and boutiques. Regarding security, yes you need to be careful, thats, it!
