A lovely experience from beginning to end!
This was a lovely experience from beginning to end! To start, our tour manager Ryan was great at communicating with me prior to the excursion to ensure that all the required logistics were in place.

And, once we started the tour, Miguel took great care of us. My boyfriend and I ended up sharing the experience with another couple from the USA, and Miguel did a wonderful job of catering to everyone, ensuring that all of us had anything we needed throughout the afternoon. For example, I am a gluten-free vegetarian, and both he and our truly wonderful guide at the vineyard - Alejandra - ensured that I had tasty delicious food on offer, just like everyone else.

In addition, Miguel is knowledgeable of Uruguayan history, was warm and super friendly, and you could tell that he really enjoys showcasing not only the winery but also all the other greatness that Uruguay has to offer.

Perfect for our Honeymoon

We got the pleasure of both coordinating and having Ryan, the owner, to be our tour guide for this special day trip experience from Punta del Este to Sacromonte vineyard which was hidden away with amazing views, wine and food! We got to meet the owner of the vineyard all while having a very personal experience. Some of the best pictures of our honeymoon are from this trip so it will always be memorable to us!

Ryan’s communication was great and he also went out of his way to provide top ideas of things to do in Punta del Este and Montevideo. We went to a lot of the recommendations and never disappointed. Would highly recommend!

A must do in Montevideo
A day of fun, friends, food and wine. The Winery is about 1 hr from Montevideo. Tour operator communicates very well ensuring you have a great time. Our guide Miguel was exceptional. The winemaker hosted the tour educationing us on the vines and varietals. They had just flowered.
Be sure to have the lunch. Well worth the additional cost. A full lunch and exceptional food. Provided one of our guests great vegetarian and gluten free options. Great quality wines. The winemaker reintroduced me to a terrific Cab Franc.

A Fantastic Wine Experience!
I can't praise The Wine Experience enough. This was my second time with them, and it was another exceptional day. Communication with Ryan, the owner, couldn't have been better, he was always responsive, and worked with us to accommodate our unusual needs, as our group needed to board a ship in the afternoon. This is a very high quality experience and I felt like excellent value for the money and a great way to spend a day outside Montevideo.
Everyone enjoyed everything about the trip, including some who normally don't care for reds, but enjoyed everything! The wines were high quality (Castillo Viejo) with a great tour with a winemaker and one of the family owners.
It was a unique experience at a true winery, where we could see how everything worked. While they grow their grapes in a region better suited for higher quality wines, they have planted a tiny vineyard with multiple vines to really teach us and show the differences.
The setting is beautiful outside and the tasting and light lunch was underground and really an outstanding setting.
Our driver, Daniel, was prompt and professional and picked us up at pre-agreed pickup points, perfect timing.

A truly wonderful experience!

We had a lovely experience! Miguel was our guide. He had an excellent knowledge of wine and history and was very engaging throughout our tour. The couple who owns the winery were absolutely lovely and welcoming. As advertised the wines were very tasty! They were accommodating of my dietary restrictions as a pescatarian and the lunch was very good. We could not have asked for a better day. While we did not meet Ryan in person he was super helpful and easy to talk to over text. He gave us recommendations for places to eat and things to do around Montevideo. I would do this tour again in a heartbeat, highly recommend.

An Intimate Uruguay Wine Experience.

A really intimate and unforgettable experience just outside of Montevideo. The winery is fully-functioning and it’s great to see how things are done. The wine is wonderful and the meal was outstanding. A definite must do.

Fantastic Wine Day from Punta del Este

What a great day. Ryan was super helpful in organizing and Nicolas spent the day with me. Both a pleasure. Sacromonte is a great spot to go to. About an hour from Punta del Este. Beautiful drive and then amazing location once there. Good wine. Good lunch. And Nicolas added a stop at Casapueblos on the way back. Thank you for a memorable day. Highly recommended.

Experience Uruguay's wine flavours

We visited the lovely family run Bodega Castillo Viejo on our private tour. The tour through the winery was very interesting and interactive with an exquisit lunch and wine tasting afterwards. Our super friendly and knowledgeable guide Miguel accompanied us through the whole experience and offered an insight into various topics of the Uruguayan lifestyle. We highly recommend this wonderful experience to any wine lovers out there.

I’ve been on two wine tours with this company, 3 years apart, both in Montevideo. I highly recommend! The attention is very personable, tailored to interests, with lots of communication and information both before and during the tours. It is very special to be able to visit a single winery for several hours, with the winemaker. Provides great insight into the unique Uruguayan wine industry!
