This place is meant for tourists from cruise ships. Very crowded, expensive and hot. We chose different place (Es Mercat) for lunch and definitely were very happy about our choice.

A place to be visited. Choosing among all offers that option that is most enjoyable for you, you will for sure have a nice lunch, dinner... Could it have become a bit too nosy and not so cosy anymore ?

We had lunch here on two days. The atmosphere is great - it is a very vibrant and colourful place. The meat stalls are amazing and they have great wines too. We were on a RTW trip and this is one of our favourite memories.

The Mercado is a go-to location for visitors looking for Uruguayan gifts. Offers several shops and restaurants. You don’t need much time here but if you’re in Montevideo, you’ll definitely want to stop by.

As a nice place to know and get acquainted with the uruguay culture. The building is an old construction close to the wharf/port area that agregates a number of "parrillas" run by each of the restaurants owners. In my opinion the food is ok but...More
