Tall fancy buildings, the area has stores, restaurants and hotels. The beaches are gorgeous the water is a mixture of the river and the ocean. You will find dead fish, that’s because the water changes from salty and sweet so the salty fish die and...More

The coziest neighbourhood in Montevideo. Almost the same as 50 years ago...but with fewer tea rooms by the sea. Still, the restaurants are friendly and with huge portions and everything is handy. If you want a quiet time for yourself in a comfortable environment..this is...More

Pocitos, together with nearby Trouville, Punta Carretas, and Buceo, form a perfect zone for visitors and residents. Stretched along the beach front, these three leafy neighbourhoods have fine restaurants and cafes, parks, shopping areas, good hotels, and excellent transportation. This us the place to stay.

Pocitos is a Montevideo neighborhood located next to Buceo. Away from the busy downtown Montevideo, it is a pleasure to drive or walk along the coast, passing by appealing high rises and and blue waters.

Great beach, clean sand, calm sea (when we were there) and friendly locals. Plenty of places to eat and drink just off the beach.

Sidewalks are dirty, broken and with excrements. There’s garbage on the floor all around. Car drivers have no respect for peatons, and are dangerous. You have very limited attractions, unless you like to just eat chivito.

Only the Rambla makes it out for this place, and is usually packed with bikers, runners and dog-walkers.

Excellent city beach. Surprisingly clean with its proximity to the city. Fairly close to the airport, and ideally located. Winter or summer, it is a great place to walk around and just get close to the water and relax.

El problema es muy complejo, porque esta politizado de manera insalubre. Hay problemas de gestion, si es cierto. Pero eso afectaria de igual manera a otros barrios de la ciudad, y lo cierto es que en otros barrios no se nota... More

Hola, disculpas or no haber contestado antes. La playa Pocitos asi como todas las playas de Montevideo son lugares publicos y por suerte gratuitos. Lamentablemente no hay un lugar seguro para dejar las pertenencias. Saludos.
