Great neighborhood to watch locals where they live. Great architecture, lots of places to shop and eat.

We walked Positos for hours, enjoyed the quiet yet busy streets. Locals were extremely friendly and helpful with directions and suggestions.

We got here on a Sunday and found a smelly beach littered with dead catfish. By Monday the beach was a bit cleaner and only on Tuesday it had been cleaned up . The water is quite shallow a long way from shore and it is save to swim in. A great place for children to play.

Pocitos is an attractive tree shaded neighbourhood and we preferred it to the old city as there was more going on in the streets when we visited. The beach is good, although shallow water at low tide. There are places to eat and drink at the eastern end of the beach including a big fish restaurant next to the yacht... More

You can enjoy a walk alongside the riverbanks and capture the wonderful views towards the attractive Rio de la Plata (Plata river), one of the largest in the world. Many sailing boats, cruises and vessels can be seen sailing along the coast or very far from it. The beach, in the summer, is crowded with people walking, bathing or just... More

Choose your hotel close to pocitos. There you can go to the beach, the rambla, plus you have shops, there is a good gym called City Fitness just off of España and eluari. I'd recommend staying there more than the old city side as it's much safer, newer, and beautiful.

clean beaches, no facilities on most of them but still maintained nicely. Ice cream is sold on the beaches and smiling faces all over.

I like recommending this neighborhood to foreign visitors, especially on sunny days, because it has lots of people enjoying the sea view and fresh air, and it's near a lot of shopping places and restaurants. Also, it can be a great place to meet people in a relaxed atmosphere. In summer and spring, and especially on weekends, this place has... More

Really nice to go for a calm walk and enjoy the sunset. Even better if with friends and some mate to drink!

It is a nice beach, no doubt but not more. It is nice as long as you look into the sea and not directly behind you: even if it is not ugly, there are high buildings kind of ruining the beach scenery. Good thing is, it was not crowded (saturday afternoon) as expected and because the montevideo sign is here... More
