Very pleasant well put together small painting and sculpture exhibits. Well worth a visit with Albanian artists, Socialist realism, and Stalin and Lenin out back.

... it's pretty darn nice. The highlight of the collection are paintings from the socialist realist period of the Communist regime, and the museum has some nice items. If this is your cup of tea, no better place in the region to see this style....More

I decided to stop by the museum while out walking in Tirana. It's a small museum, made smaller by closing a couple of galleries for new exhibits (this was in June 2017). The was an exhibit with works by a contemporary painter - Arben Golemi....More

There is one gallery with a changing exhibition plus the permanent collection. Really interesting artworks from the communist era. Worth the time. Note that, like many placesn Albania, entry is half price for age 60 and over!

This is a hidden gem. Some very lovely pieces of art from Bulgarian painters that I had never heard of and am so glad that I do now. Many pieces to view throughout. Spend a couple of hours here. No regrets!

Lovely display of the local artists. It's a small collection so it makes you appreciate more what you're looking at. We spent about half an hour here.

Fascinating exhibits of the last hundred years of Albanian art. Stunning middle tier gallery, particularly as the sun hits it in the late afternoon. A very good photographic exhibition in May which was a stark contract to the resident Communist pieces. Eye opening, thought provoking,...More

Strong men and heroic women, all happy to be working for the state. Big chests, large heads, lots of muscles. The women are studying blueprints and obviously empowered. It's period Soviet art like you may never have seen. Worth a visit but not long.
