One of the best mosques in Albania. It is build in the center of Tirana together with an icon clock at its left side. This is a relaxing place to visit. Once a hospital was built with it but later it was moved away. A place to visit.

One of the few mosques that survived the "aetheism" era of the communism regime. Worth a visit. Right in the centre of town.

Really enjoyed a visit to the beautiful little Ethem Bey Mosque right on Skenderbeg Square. Beautiful ornate interior, an oasis of calm. We were met by the caretaker who couldn't have been nicer, showing us around, making us welcome and telling us about the place as best he could despite the language barrier. A lovely place and we'll worth your... More

The mosque is very nicely decorated, with a wonderful surrounding with the main plaza of Tirana and the clock tower next to it. Especially nice at night!

3 centuries old ottoman mosque situated in the center of tirana. it was built by a local lord 300 years ago and is the only old mosque that survived communism rule as a museum and only after the regime collapsed is started again to be used as a mosque.

An 18th century mosque with particularly beautiful mural decoration. An interesting escape from the surrounding crowdedness. Ideal to visit out of praying time in order to experience the interior undisturbed. Small and neat and very colorful.

A warm welcome to visitors. Dating from the 18th century this is one of the very few really old buildings left in Tirana. Its status as a Cultural Monument saved it from being damaged or destroyed during the atheism campaign of the 60s. Frescoes on the outside walls and the interior is richly painted.

This mosque is mostly of interest because it survived the atheist communist period when many other places of worship were torn down. It is small but well decorated on the interior- the ceiling is particularly of interest with elaborate decoration. My spouse was not comfortable going inside - men and women are separated in the exterior prayer area and we... More
