Don't bother

A total waste of time. This is now a construction project and surrounded by a fence. My advise is to visit somewhere else in Tirana.

Being Renovated
Dec 2020
It was the Enver Hoxha Museum, but now it is a conference center. It is currently being renovated and behind a fence. The Peace Bell is also inside the fence and you have access to neither.

Dark, under construction, behind walls
Dec 2020 • Friends
Might be nice in the future, but construction walls around it right now. Check back in a year, or two, or ten. Was a museum to honor Communist dictator Hoxha, then a museum, night club, radio station, and a NATO headquarters during Kosova war. Now apparently dilapidated and sealed and graffiti-covered.

Eyesore
Aug 2020 • Solo
This place is really not worth visiting. It is an eyesore that should be torn down. It is pretty much a destroyed and wasted monument.

a tourist's perpective.

I was there about 3 years ago, I think it is salvageable, and could be a used as a museum /multi purpose space. It is a reminder of the the Communism era. While many people see it as a reminder of a negative moment in Albania history, it is worth preserving. People need to reminded about the true history of Albania even if it is ugly......

Not what I was expecting

Thought only Egypt had pyramids, old bad looking and saw young kids climbing on it... dangerous. I think that the government must do something about it

Old and Rundown
Sep 2020 • Couples
We weren't very impressed with the look of the building. The whole thing looks rundown, dirty, and not appealing at all. This place needs an entire face-lift!

Ruined reminder of Albanian dictator
Oct 2019
In 1988 the structure opened as the Enver Hoxha Museum who died in 1988. Originally it was to serve as a museum about the legacy of the dictator, but after the communism in Albania collapsed in 1991 it was used as exhibition center. Since then it went to rack and ruin and nowadays it is discussed what to do: demolish the structure or renovate and use for new purpose - one of the ideas is IT center for youth. Whatever your impression, it is clearly a landmark of Tirana.

A weird experience in Tirana
Aug 2020 • Couples
A weird construction, a living monument to the past. It’s good that they keep it as it is, nothing can remind us better about what is gone

Buzludzha of Albania
Aug 2020
First of all let me apologize to future travelers who might think I'm crazy rating it 5 stars after they visit it. But, I'm a huge fan of Communist mega/crazy edifices like this one and I like to visit them, stare at them and think about the minds who created them. Even my kids thought I went nuts when I brought them here.
The Tirana pyramid is a monster concrete structure set in the center just south across the Rinia park. Built as a museum for Enver Hohxa's "achievements" 3 y after his death, it was never opened for that purpose. Instead, it's a decaying bldg severely time harmed.
It strongly reminds me on the same style edifice of Buzludzha in Bulgaria (set in the middle of nowhere Bulgaria mountains), but this eerie is in capital's downtown.
Besides the decaying pyramid, pay attention to the Peace Bell opposite (read that review).
