Excedo Travel is a vibrant Bulgaria based outdoor adventure company specializing in outdoor sports, adventure travel and cultural tourism. The company was born out of an idea and its founder’s desire to help world travelers discover and explore the diversity Bulgaria has to offer beyond the traditional, to make them see it with different eyes. Our love for nature and outdoor sports, combined with our reverence for our beautiful country’s rich culture and centuries-old history have inspired us to take a distinct approach. We're so happy to have met Manuela! My two friends and I only had one full day in Bulgaria and we wanted to see the highlights. She was able to pick us up from the airport, took us to the city to get my Starbucks mug collection, and then headed over to Rila, Boyana and then back to the hotel where she waited for us to check in and then dropped us off at the Alexander Nevsky cathedral. At the end of the trip I told Manuela that I feel that I should be getting a degree in Bulgarian history after having talked to her about it all day. We had a wonderful Bulgarian lunch at the monastery restaurant. She was able to go at our pace, took photos whenever we asked to, she was super knowledgeable, it was extremely fascinating to listen to her views and perspective of what has happened in Bulgaria during her lifetime and also from as early as 8000 BC. I had no idea that this country is 3rd after Italia and Greece in having the most number of archaeological sites. And the oldest Roman city is actually in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. (If I remember correctly.). Having gone thru the era of communism and then now democracy, she's seen history being re-written a couple times. I should also mention Damion our driver who was amazing, he was able to get us to our places of interest in time so that we wouldn't miss anything. If you ever met Manuela, you could really sense her passion for her country and her country's treasures. This whole one day experience is quite moving. I would love to go back to Bulgaria to visit Sofia longer and visit the rest of the country. And of course wouldn't want anyone else to guide us but Manuela! Oh, and she brought snacks in her car, which was consumed timely. The halva was so scrumptious!

I had a tour around Sofia with Manuela.
She was a fantastic tour guide and gave me an insight into the capital city. I was fascinated with the information that Manuela told me about the city and Bulgaria in general. Manuela clearly has a passion for Sofia, and it was great to see that enthusiasm!
It was also interesting hearing the stories that she had to tell about the city, from her own experience too!
I wish the tour was longer, as I wanted to find out more about Sofia. But, I can always return there one day.

I had a great time showing you around. It is always refreshing to have young people so curious and interested to learn not only about our history, but how it connects to our present.
I do hope you have a chance to visit Bulgaria for a more extended period of time, because Sofia might be the face of Bulgaria but it is not its heart and soul :)

マケドニアのスコピエから移動して、半日ツアーをお願いしました。ガイドさんが大変親切で、説明も分かりやすく、じっくり観光することができました。何より、英語が苦手な私のために、簡単なセンテンスで説明してくださったのが、ありがたかったです。ソフィアの観光が、とても心に残りました。ありがとうございました！
I moved from Skopje in Macedonia and asked for half a day tour. Guide was very kind, explanation was easy to understand, I could take sightseeing thoroughly. More than anything, I was thankful for explaining with a simple sentence for me who is not good at English. The sightseeing in Sofia remained in the heart very much. Thank you very much!

We had an amazing team workshop where we learned everything about the traditional bulgarian easter egg painting. The venue choosen was very comfortable and nice with very good coffee and sweets.
The organization of the event was just perfect. As I recently moved on a short term managment assignment to Sofia, I needed someone who speeks English and is able to deliver based on western standards. With Manuela from Exceedo travel I definately found the person I was looking for. She organized everything from A to Z with no delays, no surprised etc.

We booked 2 trips via excedo, one was a walk through the city with the lovely Manuela, she spoke in English, had an extensive knowledge of the history of the city and was extremely nice and friendly.
3 days after we were taken by another lovely guide (by car) to the Rila monastery and mountain, did a short but beautiful hike (mainly Rocky, through the thick green forest) and then to the great monastery of Rila.
Both days were perfect, both guide were so friendly and knowledgeable, I recommend them highly!

We were staying in Macedonia and booked a day trip to Sofia. We met Manuela for a walking tour around the city and took in the many sights and learned about the history as she was detailed and knowledgable. The tour covered a lot within an afternoon, however the pace was calm and we had time to stop for browsing in shops, taking many photos and at the end taking lunch and refreshments. We felt we had got to know Sofia within our brief time there and enjoyed the experience, with many photos and memories to share.

We had an important visit from some of our collegues in Europe this week and they were on their first fam trip to Sofia. It was vital for us to make a great first impression for Sofia as a destination and Manuela definitely exceeded our expectations! She was so knowledgable, she could answer every question of our curious guests and just few hours later they knew so much about Sofia and they were greatly impressed by the city! We would most definitely recommend Manuela as a tour guide for guests on a business level!

We had a great time in Bulgaria, thanks to Manuela and Yori our guides. We spend a week in various parts of Bulgaria. A very good combination of hiking, admiring nature, learning about culture and history. Yori was very patient with me lagging behind and slowing down the group (I was not feeling good due to bronchitis). He is very knowledgeable, tells good stories and makes nice lunches . We also met on our way very warm and helpful people like Malinka and Boris from Bansko (thanks to you again for arranging for me doctor’s appointment and for the special tea to cure my cough). Malinka makes very good banica, you must try and Boris is a master of home made liquors, be careful some are very strong and he offers generously.

We had an excellent time with Excedo in Bulgaria. We did several city trips in Bulgaria together with Manuela and had an amazing time. She shared her immense knowledge of the Bulgarian history and present situation of the country in a very captivating way. She took care of every detail of our tours and even made it possible for us to have a rakia tasting workshop. I would highly recommend Excedo Travel for any city or outdoors travels in Bulgaria.

Hi there, would you be able to do a private tour for 3 women, picking up from the airport at 10am Sunday May 6 to see Rila Monastery and the Boyana church and then back to Sofia? Thank you in advance.

Hi Cindy, we can of course do that. I would need your exact arrival time so that I can arrange logistics because this time of year and on a national holiday as May 6 is in Bulgaria, we will need to reserve an entry time for Boyana church.
Also please be aware that that day will be very crowded.
The price per person would be 50 Euro, which includes airport pickup, transportation with an air-conditioned vehicle, English speaking guide, entrance fees, parking fees, small beverages for the drive.
