This place is brilliant, and not so inaccessible as some people have made out. The place is set back down the left hand side of a bright green building. There is a wooden door and a sign - admittedly in Bulgarian - but a good indicator you're in the right place! Sometimes the door is ajar so you can just... More

I probably would have given this place a 5, if the bar staff weren't so rude. Given the bar is lined with reserved labels; it would suggest you could reserve a table another night if I were to come back with a group. The response of no, a rolling of her eyes, and walking off kind of settled it. Not... More

I wouldn't suggest to spend more than 1h in this place: smoking is allowed (so that air is very heavy), few sitting places, low security standards (a lot of flames, but I didn't see one extinguisher... and one single door to flew out). BUT: the difficulty to find the place makes it very exclusive... you feel like in a forbidden... More

I was so excited reading about this place even when I read that the bartenders are not the nicest I didn't care I like dark moody bars I live in LA I'm used to it. BUT here is what happened...I ordered 2 glasses wine Bartender said 6 Lev I gave her a 10. She then asked me if I had... More

Great atmosphere, awesome staff and really cool idea where it is only light up by candles, if you are in Sofia highly recommend you check it out!

I have been to hambara bar at Christmas . It's a very nice bar with great atmosphere because of the candles. Cheap beer and friendly people also help the bar to be one of the best I have ever been!!

If this bar was in the uk it would be shut down within 5 minutes of opening, its all made out of wood and lit entirely by candles, but it is an incredible bar that you have to visit to understand why, the music, the ambience and the atmosphere are just incredible, if you go to Sofia you HAVE to... Found this purely based on tripadvisor, was a little tricky to find as its not clearly marked, and is down a little side street. The bar is essentially a barn, and is lit only by candlelight, creating a very interesting atmosphere side note: they do not like you taking pictures, especially with flash as we found out

And this place is not easy. Down a little, dark alleyway, then you knock on a door and are let into a room that is lit only by candles. Intimate, with a great selection of alcohol, this is a true gem that when you find you'll feel very special indeed.
