Just gorgeous. I took a cab here after work ( in Sofia on business) since I wanted to see this cathedral. I had about 10 minutes so only saw exterior and main interior areas ( access to upper floors blocked off but I got here a bit late so perhaps was a matter of timing). Still, very impressive.

As this was my first time at a Russian Orthodox church, I was amazed. The exterior is very iconic of Sofia and the interior is peaceful, very beautiful and almost never too crowded. Always worth a visit.

This is a beautiful cathedral, but nothing to write home about. The walk to it is easy however, from the metro, and we did it with our luggage in tow. It's a good sight to see if you have extra time in Sofia and you are downtown (and quite like old cathedrals). Otherwise, go to Rila, Prague, or Istanbul.

The Cathedral is impressive from the outside - it's understandably one of Sofia's most famous landmarks. Inside it is rather dark. Nevertheless, it is an awe-inspiring sight.

It is really impressive! The cathedral dominates the neighbourhood and is really beautiful. It is impressive from inside as well and I doubt that one could regret for visitting it.

Unfortunately we could not go inside that day because of protests, but the outside was impressive enough to make up for it. Definitely a must see! Have a seat and watch as the sun makes the building look so many different ways in the shadows!

The taxi dropped us off just outside for our afternoon, only, of sightseeing in Sofia. Whilst not big church viewers, this Cathedral still can woo with it's restrained impressiveness and superb exterior.

Saint Alexandar Nevski Cathedral is the most beautiful spiritual place in Sofia. It's very well kept from inside. It's a shame they don't allow people to take pictures in there even when there are no prayers. It's a place that you can't get enough of from inside or even just looking at it from outside. It's a place that you... More
