Located on the site of the University of Zagreb, this was once the student's library. The reading lamps in the smaller side rooms were designed specifically for the space by the architect and the stained glass in the ceilings is magnificent. The main reading room...More

Zagreb's enormous State Archives Building is beautiful, both inside and outside. It's also very conveniently located on Zagreb's 'horseshoe-shaped green belt' route - across from the Botanical Gardens. For a building that's over 100 years old, it's in superb condition. There are at least two...More

Very nice building and a beautiful example of Croatian Art Nouveau. Many details and decorative elements on the facade, especially the rooftop groups of globebearing owls.

I took a tour of this gorgeous building with a few friends before settling down to do some research. The tour was interesting and informative, was free of charge, and last about an hour.
