The docent at the Pushkin museum was a gracious hostess, and a wealth of knowledge of the history of Pushkin, Moldova, and the surrounding region. It is interesting to see the reverence that the local people still afford to this national hero.

Pushkin had a relatively brief stay in Chisinau, but they organized quite a nice collection about those times. Worth spending a little while, though it helps if you know Russian.

So yes, Pushkin was exiled to Chisinau for awhile and the museum is the house he inhabited. Small but interesting offerring -- particularly if you are into Pushkin. The museum is a little out of the way and a bit run down.
