Fantastic tour - very interesting and informative. Claire was excellent and gave us a great perspective on Bucharest through the different historic periods. Absolutely worth taking the tour to learn so much of the history and culture in such a short time. We would have walked past so many sites without realising the significance.

Claire met us at our apartment at edge of the old town..it was just me and my son which was great as tour was done completely at our pace.Very interesting to hear about life under communism from claire who was brought up as a child during this period.you must go on this tour if you are interested in this period.We wanted to tag on a visit to parlaiment at the end of the tour and claire arranged this for us and 2 other members of our family who didnt take the walking tour..she took us to the parliament building and even waited to ensure we got in ok.Highly recommended.

Great way to know Bucharest

Let me start with Alina, our host who took us on this most wonderful historical tour of Bucharest. She was warm, energetic and knowledgeable and extremely well prepared. She took us around the city, giving a historical perspective of all the important landmarks situated in the center of Bucharest. If you want to get a flavour of real Bucharest in all its glory, its troubled past and vibrant present, go for this walking tour. Worth every penny of your money spent.

Great intro to Bucharest!
Thank you Alina for a wonderful walking tour of Bucharest! You did a great job of explaining the times of the monarchs, the times during communism and the times of democracy and their associated sites. I would highly recommend Alina’s tour to first time visitors to Romania!!

Took this walking tour during our short stay , explained well the different periods of history and significant buildings as well as her personal insight into life during the Communist era led by Ceaucescu . Certainly much better than attempting a self guide from a book .Also kindly booked us into the parliament tour and explained how to find the entrance .Good English spoken . Wear comfortable shoes as a lot of ground covered in 3 hours !

We had a guided tour with Alina. We were lucky enough to be the only ones on the tour. Alina was very knowledgeable and lovely and happy to share her vast knowledge and answer our questions. We would definitely recommend this tour and enjoyed learning lots about Bucharest. Alina was very friendly and put us at ease and nothing was too much trouble.

If you are in Bucharest and are interested in learning the history of the city and the country, you must book this company. Our guide was nothing short of amazing and made our four hour tour seem like an hour. Her animation and love of history and her country was infectious and we were sad to say good bye at the end of our tour.

Wow, Alina went above and beyond,cannot fault this tour. A fascinating insight to the history and politics of Romania, you begin to understand what it’s like to be brought up in a communist regime.
A great tour for architecture buffs.
