Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Small 2-room museum with beautiful artifacts. Mainly wooden structures which were part of farms, pots and photographs . The items are worth seeing and quite unique. There museum is small, so one can easily see it in about 30-45 minutes. Unfortunately, there are no translations, so it’s hard to figure out contextual information. And it would be so easily done. Which is a pity, since there are many portraits of individuals.

We were here on a Friday and there was a wonderful flea market behind the museum. Had I not asked at the front desk, we would have missed a real fun opportunity.

Was here during my 3rd day of my stay and sadly it was a bit of let down.

While it was fitting to the theme it felt like the variety of what was shown was actually very small. Maybe because some of the museum looked closed off but unsure.
There was also nothing written down in English.

After living in Bucharest for a year and visiting many museums, I can say that the Peasant Museum is undoubtedly my favorite. The building and displays are clean, attractive, colorful, and the gift shop has a fine selection of books about Romania not found anywhere else.
Several times a year, there are special fairs--like the one in early December called the St. Nicholas Fair. Vendors from all the areas of Romania bring their handmade goods and offer them for purchase. For example, the carved wooden utensils, bowls, etc. are still used locally--an anomally in our world of machine-tooled products. Each area in Romania also has its own pottery style and one can find lots of pieces to choose from.
Romania is truly trying to emerge into a more western style ecomony, but most museums in Bucharest have a long way to go in realizing that their popularity can be dependent upon printing better descriptions in several languages, including English. That is true in this museum too.

The permanent exhibition is closed.
The ticket price, although very affordable, therefore only includes one floor on which a few works are exhibited.
Overall, these are photos without titles or explanations (whether in English, French and even Romanian!).
So we wandered for 15 minutes without making any connection with the peasant world, which was our objective.
So, the museum may be interesting... but not until the main exhibition is closed.

The museum consists of only two rooms, with finds relating to rural life, some wooden doors, some tools, two traditional clothes. The highlight is the reconstruction of a peasant house. Nothing else was understood because the museum completely lacks inscriptions in English, and the staff present in the room gives no information.

Almost non-existent collection. Apart from the photos already on the site there is nothing interesting. The reception is very cold and we have to leave the museum to go to another part even less interesting.
Really disappointed

I wandered through this museum as it was close to my hotel. It was a Saturday morning so there was an extensive market in the courtyard full of souvenirs and bric a brac. The museum itself was disappointing in terms of displays and state of repair. There are better places to spend time in Bucharest

We visited The Old Trees of Romania Exhibition at Peasant Museum recently and we found it great, it is a collections of photos made by the artist Florin Ghenade. You can see here the oldest trees in Romania and even in Europe. Very good photos and we learned that one of them took 18 minutes to be editable, due to time of exposure. To mention, the Peasant Museum is not open yet, entirely.

This museum was a severe let down. Not only were there no explanations about anything, it was like a pointless maze of crap.

Maybe if I were a peasant, I'd find this vaguely interesting. Fortunately, I am actually filthy rich and so this was a waste of time.

You are better off driving into the Romanian countryside and meeting some real peasants...

My tour guide said don’t go here but I went anyway as it was recommended in my guide book to spend the "best part of a day here". I was very disappointed. I only stayed for 20 minutes. Luckily I had a City Card so only cost 2 lei. I totally agree with comments made by “Dorsetbruce”. I wonder if everyone else went to a different museum. It is minimalist with everything displayed in a haphazard manner. Even a stone with a Latin description was upside down so you couldn’t read it. Nothing is labelled. The laminated sheets are useless – written in poetic language. I couldn’t find shop or café or basement.
