Wow! Changed my perception of the Balkans. History, culture, nature....impressive. Do get a guide so you understand all the treasures available and not so obvious. Or do your research in advance. Totally worth it.

a nice stroll after a long exhausting day, lots of greenery, with a military museum and artifacts from the Turkish time, the remnants from the Turks, refreshing, a lot of old women selling their hand-works and ready to chat.

This is a beautiful spot to see while in Belgrade, even better if you're on a walking tour so the guide can tell you about the fascinating history. Make sure you walk to the edge to get a good view of the river!

You can have a really long walk, with the view on the city, the Danube and Sava rivers and the bridges. Also if you have children, can take them to the zoo.

Fortress is about 10 minutes walk away from the main shopping street Knez Mihajlova. You can walk around, enjoy the view where Sava and Danube river come together. There are plenty of walkways around the area.

We spend a couple of hours walking around at the fortress, that has turned into sort of a park area. It was really nice and I would definitely recommend it.
