Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent exhibit, well laid out and labeled. Has depth without being overwhelming -- items on display are well chosen. You can get a good sense of Serbian ethnic traditions. Big fan of the textiles. Worth the time, for sure.

I happened to be alone in the museum on Sunday - and it made my visit more special. It was very quite in the vast halls, but cosy, and lights were calm. I could sit there in comfortable chairs for visitors and get fascinated by the exhibitions. Balkan national clothes are just so beautiful and colorful!

The museum houses a multitude of costumes, instruments, and art from various regions of Serbia proper, and where Serbian minorities have been for centuries prior.
Guides lead you through the museum and explain what each item or piece in the museum was or still is used for.
The museum houses in excess of 50 regional costumes as well with quite a few being antique's.

Nothing to see inside. You expect to learn a culture of a naion in an ethnographic museum but it is just some wooden plates, wooden work things. And the woman in the reception is so rude and does NOT speak english. I mean it is a museum you'd expect to see some english speaking staff. My friend took 1 photo and woman came in to make us pay. She says it is a photo ticket. (She only says "photo ticket" that's all) we paid 250 dinars for 1 ticket which we didnt use. She asks for a man to come speak english with us (we were trying to explain that we didnt wanna pay we'd just delete that one photo because I mean why should we pay for a stupid photo?) The man comes in and says "photo ticket". It is just that. Noone speaks english in this museum. We speak speak speak for like 5 minutes. answer: "Photo ticket." We paid for nothing just because they couldnt understand us. I sweared through the whole museum. 250 dinars are nothing (kinda like 2 euros) but I was really angry because they didnt understand me in a MUSEUM!

Unless you really want to go here I would give it a wide birth . Just displays showing types of dress and households over the years but not done that well .

Sustoms, dresses, tools talks about life and imagination of nation. And Serbs have variety of such as noone else anywhere in the world, specialy compared with relatively small teritory they setlled

Loved the textiles and costumes but now that more tourists are visiting Belgrade this museum could really do with a spruce up and more signs describing the collection in English.

Spread over three floors this is a well presented exhibit, there are many costumes/clothing, that were worn from the mid 19th -20th century. the highlight for us was the display depicting two families and how they fitted in to society. Definitely worth a visit, especially on free Sundays.

I have visited over 30 ethnography museums in Europe and sadly this was probably the worst.
The entry fee is small but they request that you pay a supplement of the same again if you believe that you will take any photos, very odd.
The museum is housed in a very large space but sadly seemed like they were struggling to fill it with interesting exhibits, there were 2 floors of costumed mannequins (modern repros) followed by a floor of mostly agricultural implements which were hardly labelled in any language.
Overall I would not recommend this museum, there are so many across Europe including many in the Balkans that will show you the same or better displays. This offered me no more than I have seen before many times.

Spent about 1.5 hours here admiring the many examples of traditional dress in their collection. Very unique examples in an excellent quality museum. On the top floor you'll find displays of many aspects of life in Serbia from household to agriculture to viniculture to fishing and everything in between. Fascinating!
On the ground floor there's also a nice collection of Balkan traditional lutes. Amazing carvings and craftsmanship.
Don't miss this gem if you love traditional clothing and seeing a culture's past.

Хотела бы уточнить график работы музея. По возможности, на январские праздники.
Есть ли экскурсии или аудио-гид? Если есть, то есть информация по языкам на которых он есть?
