Definitely worth the trip if you like war history especially from the WWII Era. It's a big landmark with 3 museums inside. It also has a great outdoor vintage WWII weaponry exhibition. You definitely get to see and experience WWII and other world conflicts from the opposing side of the United States and its Allies. I was intrigued by their... More

Under the Motherland statue is the entrance to this marvelous museum to the history of the Ukraine during WW2. The entrance looks closed don't be put off it's just because you can't see any one until the sliding doors open. You have to leave your coat and bags in a cloak room run by the 2 most miserable ladies from... More

The National Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War is a memorial complex commemorating the German-Soviet War. It is worth to visit it with its 62-meter tall Motherland statue. Tickets are very cheap= 20 uah adult including leaving clothes for free and bathroom facilities. There is also cheap kafe inside when you can relax a little.

Very interesting and extremely well made documentation about the second world war - told from a Ukrainian perspective. Lots and lots of personal belongings, pictures of men and women fighting the third Reich. Shocking evidence of how the aggressor (Germany) devastated a country in search of fertile soil and raw materials. Never ever again! And I hope this not only... More

The museum has a very big collection of documents and items, from books to tanks to planes. Due to the fact that Kiev and Ukraine were one of the main battlefields of WW2, this museum is not just a collection of items, but also of emotions and reflections. The museum itself has different areas, some of which are located outside... More

Brilliant place. I took my English husband to this museum, he loved it. The English guide was helpful as well. We found a lady who speaks English in just 5 minutes. There's lots of planes, heavy military equipment, tanks, machines...

Giant Soviet style Motherland statue, war themed bas-relief, 2 painted tanks, tons of war machinery & aircrafts - all this makes plenty of photo possibilities if you are on the touristy side of visitors and makes an excellent trip to learn Ukraine's past if you are more the history lover kind of person. Depressing because of the heaviness of Soviet... More

Monumental building and great collection of war-related things but one, giant flaw - no english subtitles. My ukrainian is very basic so I didn't understand everything. Unfortunately after I left I was told that audio guide was avialible. Maybe next time ;)

Very friendly museum with a unique collection. Many items can be entered. The entrance is paid, but the price is symbolic.
