The walk to the summit starts a short way up the hill from the Canal Company's head office, which itself overlooks the Pacific entrance to the canal. The walk to the top took me about 20 minutes...not too arduous. There are several vantage points at...More

I was grateful that I did Ancon Hill after a few days in the city, so I had my collective bearings about me. More succinctly, I knew what I was looking at off in the distance (neighborhoods, etc). The short by uphill hike will get...More

Fantastic views over Panama City. The walk up took 20-30 mins but well worth it. Spotted wildlife on the way.

We went there at noon and it was hot, but you can’t really see the place in other time, so you must be prepared for that. The way up takes about half an hour, and you can see the old city, the new city, the...More

You can park your car at the entrance of the park, but from there you need to walk up the hill for approx 30 minutes. It is a pleasant/easy walk, but in my opinion the views are not worth the effort. You will see the...More

This is an easy walk up a paved road and a few stairs to the top. You get lovely views over the city and the canal. Massive flag on top is pretty too. We saw the ‘rats’ on route but not much else. Still a...More

We took a late afternoon stroll to the top of Ancon Hill. The hike is moderate and completely paved. The scenery is beautiful. The entire hike you are surrounded with Panamanian foliage and wildlife, with occasional scenic city overlooks. You have wonderful views of Cosca...More

Yes, it is completely paved and shaded most of the way. It is a bit long, but an easy walk.

The climb to the top of Ancon Hill would not be closed as it's an outdoor hiking road. I would guess that the beautiful Port Authority building, as a government building, would be closed on weekends. Enjoy!
