This was the only part of Panama we visited that felt dangerous. The Casco Viejo is best seen from inside of a moving vehicle. I don't know why they send tourists here. If we hadn't been to the Casco Viejo, we would have thought Panama...More

Casco Viejo is a beautiful part of town. It’s nothing like the rest of the city with its brick roads and old Spanish looking architecture. It’s pricey, but still is a must when visiting Panama City.

Casco Viejo was beautiful. The well-kept architecture and beautiful layout of the area made it a pleasure to wander around, and made for great photo-ops

Really nice area to walk around. Good also to go on the night for a nice dinner or a drink in one of the bars. Not enough places were to park.

View the town from the 1600s, the Presidential Palace, on the waterfront, the church remains, with new church behind the original. Cafeterias, shopping, and architecture from the original city.

As with all things the answer is "it depends". Many hotels and guest houses have someone who speaks English. Larger restaurants that cater to the gringos will also usually have someone that speaks some English. Most... More
